Lesson #18: 1 of 1

A friend once told me that comparison is the thief of joy.

I still struggle with this, especially in the age of social media, where it's the modern-day "keeping up with the Joneses". Whether it's seeing others' career success, relationship milestones, or other personal achievements, it's easy to fall into the trap of comparing my journey to theirs.

But I've come to realize that comparison serves no purpose other than to rob you of the joy in your own life. Everyone is on their own path, and things will happen the way they're supposed to, at the right time for each of us. There's no universal timeline for success or happiness, and that's perfectly okay. It's also worth noting that people are curating their online lives to potray a very pretty image of what there life is. I have to remind myself that we don't really know the WHOLE picture of what's actually going on in someone's life.

What matters is focusing on your journey and trusting that everything will unfold as it should. Embrace your own achievements, no matter how big or small they might seem compared to others. When you stop comparing yourself to others, you open up the space to celebrate your life's progress and accomplishments.

Comparison only brings unnecessary negativity into your life. Focus on your own path, and trust that everything will happen at the right time for you, PERIODT.

Do you struggle with comparison? How do you remind yourself to stay on your own path? Share your thoughts in the comments!
